Franke Lutz, Brevard County’s
original Steel Drum Man.   

 

Franke has been performing solo for the past 30 years.  He specializes in beach weddings, rehearsal dinners, out door parties, Hawaiian luau, special outings, festivals, birthdays and corporate events.  He plays Christmas Songs for holiday parties.

 

Franke inherited his Father's steel drums in the 1980's, and he has been drawn to the captivating sounds of the Caribbean and Latin style music ever since. 

 

Franke apprenticed with George Richards of Granada, who was a builder, tuner and very accomplished steel drum player. He tutored Franke through building his first few pans and teaching him about tuning, proper care and maintenance. Franke has created his own set of moderate instrumental amplification and background tracks.  He has become Florida Space Coast’s favorite professional steel drum entertainer. A talented vocalist, and a guitarist, he does a mix of Buffett, Calypso and easy jazz.
